Muriwai lifeguards competed in the recent King of Rangitoto, held from Takapuna Beach in Auckland, on Saturday 16th, October. The Muriwai Girls Surf Boat Crew (A Craigie, J Parkin, R Cray, L McCallum,D Tenheuvel) placed 1st in their division. A Muriwai Girls Double Ski crew (B Stark, E Wilson) placed 6th in the combined division. The Muriwai Senior and U23 Surf Boat crew also competed. The King Rangitoto race starts from Takapuna Beach, then crews race from Takapuna to Rangitoto in various surf craft, then run to the summit of Rangitoto, then return to Takapuna Beach.
