Muriwai teams placed 1st, 2nd and 5th in the 90 Mile IRB Classic. The 90 Mile Classic runs the length of 90 Mile Beach in Northland. Teams of three race the four stage race, which differed from the course run in previous years. This year, 65kph winds and 4m waves lashed competitors over the entire course. The Muriwai A team of Matt Buswell, Jason Harvey, and Blake Ingram placed first, the Muriwai C team of Scott Buswell, Brad Pearce and Tom Clarke placed second, and the Muriwai B team of Andrew Lancaster, Mark Seaward and John Seaward placed fifth.
